What a Wonderful Smile:
Ruth Vivian Perry
Oct. 18, 1918 - Mar. 23, 2005

Ruth Vivian Perry   We gathered on April 3 to give thanks to God for and to say a loving farewell to Ruth Vivian (Bennett) Perry, a dear sister who (with her sweet daughter) has been part of Joy Fellowship for more than 20 years. We are thankful you could be here with us.

Ruth was born 86 years ago in Saskatchewan, to John and Sarah (Crebo) Bennett, and grew up on a 'ranch' near Moose Jaw. She had one brother, Bud, who passed away several years ago. We remember her as a faithful fellow disciple of Jesus Christ, salt of the earth, and soft light to the world. She was a dedicated, single-minded, generous single mother to Linda, during an era when families who had children with disabilities did not receive much support from Government. She was a loyal friend to many of us, a tender-hearted lover of animals and many people who had not been treated with much value or respect in our society. Her sense of humour brightened our days, and her faithful prayers followed us wherever we went. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, she is with the Lord she loved. We love you, Ruth.

A Call to Pray for Joy

It is now more than two months since we learned that our pastor, Joy Gregory, was facing surgery for breast cancer. She has since had a second surgery and will be facing chemotherapy over the summer. This has come as a great shock to all of us. As we have come to grips with the fact of her serious illness, we have come to see ever more clearly the gift she is to us. Our heartfelt desire is for her healing and our conviction is that we can help her best by our prayers. We are thankful that God has raised up a great band of prayer warriors, not only among all of us in Joy Fellowship but also among friends around the world whom her life has touched and blessed. Would you join our band? This ribbon is a symbol of our commitment to pray for Joy.
