Smile of the Month: Lezlee Bachand

LezleeBirthday: November 8

Favorite Color: Pink

Favorite Movie: The Sound of Music

Favorite Food: Hamburgers

Favorite Dessert: Apple Pie and Ice Cream

Favorite Song: I Come to the Garden Alone

Favorite Bible Person: Joseph

Where have you lived? All my life I have lived around Vancouver. We moved around a lot.

What I do in the daytime? Mostly watch TV, Bible Study on Thursday and Group Home Outreach team on Friday mornings.

Where I live: It’s a group home for physically handicapped people. I have my own room with my stuff.

My Family: My family are very supportive and I do thank Jesus for them. I am a widow. For seven years I was married to a guy named Robert, who had MS (multiple sclerosis) He died on New Year’s Eve, 1994. And I still miss his smile, his laugh and him giving me a "bad time".

My Hobbies: Sometimes I read.

What are you looking forward to this summer? I have a gall stone and it’s draining and they are going to operate. I hope soon. I’m looking forward to that.

Where have you traveled? I traveled to Michigan, Edmonton, Winfield, California, Florida, Tennessee, Ontario and I’m looking forward to going to New Zealand in the fall. I have traveled with Joy Gregory. We have known each other very well. In California and in Florida we went to Disneyland and in Florida we visited a group named Special Gathering: like Joy Fellowship. I went to two conferences for Christians with disabilities: One in Michigan and one in Tennessee. That was with Joni and Friends. In Winfield we went to YWAM (Youth With a Mission) and spent a week with the students so they would get to know people with disabilities. In Edmonton we visited another group named the Friendship Group and we had fun.

Favorite Holiday: Christmas

What I do in Joy Fellowship: I welcome people Sunday morning and look after the guest book. I am on a Group Home Outreach team and I stuff envelopes for the newsletters and prayer letters. I probably stuffed this newsletter.

My Church: I haven’t talked about my feelings about my Fellowship. This is my first church I’ve been involved in and I’ve been involved for over 20 years and they’ve taught me about the Bible, Jesus and how to serve one another. Last year I finished reading the New Testament and the Old. Now I'm starting the Old Testament again to read all the way through the Bible again.

What would you like to tell everyone? Have faith in Jesus Christ. He helped me thru a lot of bad times. He’s there for the good times but He is always with us. He puts people in our lives to help us through life.
