The Unwanted
We will start with the divorce case first. Maybe I am old fashioned but I believe in what is read at the marriage ceremony which says (in part) do you promise to love, honour, and obey, through sickness and in health ‘till death do you part? Yes, I have heard a younger patient say "Oh, well, I am no use any more, it is better this way." I cannot agree with this. Just because a person is disabled and may be in hospital do you not think that it would be nice for either her or him to know that they still belonged to somebody and were still loved? I do. As for the case of the deserted, when the family or friends puts a person in a hospital or home and then simply forgets about them. Well all I can say is, I do not think much of the relations.. So people on the outside world, if there is someone in a hospital or home that you know, try and find time to go and visit them and even if you do not know any shut-ins, and if you have the time, go into a hospital, walk through the wards and talk to the patients who may not have any family or friends. They will bless you for it and in turn you may receive a blessing. (Ron and Ann Hall were an example to us of faithful love for God and for each other. Both are now with Jesus) |
